Julius J. Balken, 94, died Thursday, Nov. 22, at the
Broen Memorial Home.

Services will be Monday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. at Hamar Lutheran Church, Rothsay, with Rev. Eric Holleque officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Balken, the son of John and Mathia Balken, was born Jan. 28, 1885, near Rothsay and was baptized, confirmed, and a lifelong member of Hamar Lutheran Church.

He was married to Emma Fosse in 1907 and they farmed near Rothsay for 51 years. They retired to Rothsay in 1958 and lived there until her death in 1967. He had been a resident of the Broen Home for the past six years. He was preceded in death by one son, Lester.

Visitation will be Sunday at the Grina Funeral Home in Rothsay.
