Mrs. Melvin (Evelyn Jenora) Biiden, 69, Rothsay, died Wednesday, March 21, at Lake Region Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Rothsay. Rev. Stanley Kwiecien will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
One of 13 children of Julius and Emma (Fosse) Balken, she was born May 27,1914. She was baptized and confirmed in Harmar Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.
On Nov. 1, 1933, she and Melvin Bilden were married in Our Saviors Lutheran parsonage. Until moving to Rothsay in 1975, they had farmed in Tanberg Township, Wilkin County. They had a 50th wedding anniversary celebration on Oct. 31,1983.
A lifetime resident of the community, she was a member and involved in the A1CW of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be all day Friday at Grina Funeral Home of Rothsay and resume at the church one hour prior to services Saturday.
