Effie J. Jones, age 98, of Marlow Oklahoma died June 12, 2003, at a Marlow nursing home.
She was born to Dr. William Luther and Sally Ester Bean Gray on February 3, 1905, in Mangum, Oklahoma. She was married to Barney Jones who preceded her in death on June 11, 1968. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wellington, Texas, and was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She was an owner of a laundry in Wellington for 45 plus years.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Debra Bays of Stephenville; a sister, Alberta Owens of Marlow, Ok; two great grandsons, Jim Bays and Shaler Bays of Stephenville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee Roy Jones and Johnny Ray Jones, and one granddaughter, Karen Denise Jones.
