Graveside rites for L B Jackson Jr, 89 were held Saturday at Ringling. Jackson was born in Cornish to Lucian B Jackson Sr and Louise Hargis Jackson.
Jackson graduated from Ringling High School in 1931. He attended Cameron College and Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater. He later assisted in the management of Dillard Ranches in the 1930s & 1940s. He was well known for his western art and historical writings.
Jackson married Blanche Alzada Gilcrease on April 18, 1934 in Ringling. She preceded him in death June 4, 1989. He is also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Green Jackson in 1955; sisters, Vida Dillard, Jacque Ellison, Monte Ebey & Ouida Hamilton; and brothers, Waltine Jackson, Cub Jackson & Dixie Jackson.
Survivors include one son, Larry B Jackson of Springer, two daughters, Dixie Ann Sullivan of Ennis, Texas and Judith Baucom of Kemp, Texas; one brother, Dana B Jackson of Ringling; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
