Dixie was born August 2, 1938, at Ringling, Oklahoma, to L.B. and Blanche (Gilcrease) Jackson. She departed this life June 13, 2012, at Tyler, Texas.
Dixie was raised at Ringling, Okla., and Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she graduated high school in 1956. She later moved back to Oklahoma where she attended ECU where she studied business. She was employed at Liberty National Bank in Oklahoma City, and then later at a bank in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was also employed at Stromburg Carlson at Gene Autry, Oklahoma, for many years. Most recently, Dixie worked in Benton County, Arkansas, as a Tax Collector. She also enjoyed travelling, painting and was a wonderful cook. She was also a past member of the Zaneis Baptist Church.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Larry B. and Daniel Green Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter, Jamie Clayton, Lewisville, Texas; and son, Michael Dustin Clayton (Grace), Gravette, Ark.; sister, Judy Baucom and special brother-in-law, Charles, Brownsboro, Texas; grandchildren, Hayli and Ann Marie Clayton; nieces, Dana Langer and husband, Phillip, Dawn Baucom, Shelley Bender and husband, Tim and Melody Taylor and husband, Steve; nephew, Jay Scott Jackson; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and other family.
