Graveside services for Dana B Jackson, 88, were held Nov 20, 2003 at Ringling.

Jackson attended Kemper Military Institute and graduated from Ringling High School in 1932. He remained an avid Ringling Blue Devil supporter and fan thoughout his life. He was a 32nd degree Mason with membership in Lone Grove Lodge 25 for more than 50 years.

He served in US Army in France & Germany during WWII. He was a Capt on Gen Eisenhower's staff. He comanded the unit that arrested the last German chancellor, Grand Admiral Donitz and removed him from his ship. Mr. Jackson received numerous commendations and medals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Prior to his retirement from the Atomic Energy Commission, now the Dept of Energy, he was selected the represent the agency in the launching of Apollo 14 at Cape Kennedy.

He married Frances Roland on March 9, 1940 in Walters, OK. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Van R Jackson, San Diego and Biff Jackson and his wife Frances Ann of Ringling; a daughter, Jana Tessier and husband John, Corona, Calif; five grandsons, Kevin Biggs, David Biggs, Steven Biggs, John T Jackson and wife, Gayla, Roff; Dana B Jackson III and wife, Susan, Sherwood, Ark; a great grandson Jessey Thompson, Roff; a sister-in-law Joy Morris, the late James Dillard and wife, Jean; numerous niceces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Waltine, Cub, L.B. and Dixie Jackson; and four sisters, Jacque Ellison, Monte Ebey, Vida Dillard and Ouida Hamilton.
