RINGLING, Nov 3 (Special) Lute Jackson, 95, one of the most colorful figures of Southern Oklahoma, died Sunday morning in his home following an illness of several weeks. He had lived in Jefferson county 83 years, mostly here and at Cornish.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Ringling Methodist church. The Rev J T Simmons will preside and the Masons will direct graveside rites.
Jackson, a pioneer rancher, was a member of the Trail Drivers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, of the home; three sons,L B Jr, Santa Fe, NM; Cub, Hawthorne, Calif; Dana, Los Alamos, N.M.; four daughters, Mrs J H (Vida) Dillard, Ringling, Mrs Wright (Jacque) Ellison, Rosebud, Texas, Mrs Harmon (Monte) Ebey, Ada and Mrs Baxter (Ouida) Hamilton, Long Beach, Calif; a sister, Mrs Lee (Ann) Pemberton, Ringling, and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons; Waltine (1935) and Dixie Green (1943)
Burial will be here with nephews as pallbearers.
