Services for Claire L. Hayes, 69, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding.
The Redding Emblem Club 515 will officiate. Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hayes died Thursday, June 29, 1995 at her residence. Born Sept 1, 1925 in Anamosa, Iowa, she moved to Shasta County in 1972 from Red Bluff.
She was a homemaker, a charter member of the Redding Emblem Club 515 and a past president and a lifetime member of the League of Women Voters. She served on the Shasta County Grand Jury, volunteered as an office assistant for the U.S. Veterans medical office in Redding, served as a girl scout leader and a part-time worker for the Shasta County elections office.
Survivors include husband, John M; son Steven M of Oak Harbor, Wash, and Kenneth J. of Sparks, Nev.; daughters Cathy "Sunny" Babcock of Sitka, AK; Debra Ross of Red Bluff and Patti Hunt of Sparks; brothers Lou Gerdes of Dixon, Ill. and Garrett Gerdes of Anamosa; sisters Gertrude Nost of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Francis Brodersen of Olin, Iowa, Marie Schoon of Bellevue, Iowa, Helen Bender of Tustin and Joyce Joselyn of Coralville, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
