LESTER RANDT PASSES AWAY AT QUINCY, ILL.

Son Of Mr. And Mrs. Louis Randt Of This Place Is Victim Of Typhoid Fever

Lester O. Randt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Randt of Manawa, died at his home in Quincy, Ill., Monday, November 4, of typhoid fever after an illness of six weeks. He was 24 years, 5 months, and 24 days old.

Mr. Randt was born in Clintonville, May 10, 1905, and attended school there. He was confirmed at St. Martin's Lutheran school in that city. Later he attended Concordia Teachers college at River Forest, Ill., graduating in 1926 with fourth highest scholastic honors in the class.

He then accepted a call as an instructor in the Lutheran parochial schools at Quincy, Ill., and had taught there since 1926. He was married to Miss Gertrude Schnack of that city on June 29, 1928. One son was born to them.

Mr. Randt is survived by his widow and infant son, Lester, Jr., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Randt of this place, four sisters, Arella (Mrs. George Gresen) of Little Wolf, Avira, Ruth and Retta at home, and one brother, Corwin, at home.

A short funeral service was held at Quincy today (Thursday). Mrs. Louis Randt and daughter Avira have been in Quincy for some time, and Emil Lehmann of Menasha and George Gresen of this place left Tuesday to attend the rites there. The body will be brought to Manawa and services held at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran church here, Sunday afternoon, November 10, Rev. R.A. Karpinsky officiating. Interment will be at Graceland cemetery at Clintonville.
