Korean royalty. Born Prince Imperial Yeong and later Crown Prince Euimin, Yi Un was the 7th son of Emperor Gojong. He was the Head of the House of Yi from 1926 until his death in 1970. In 1807 he was taken to Japan to learn at the Gakushūin Peers' School to lower anti-Japanese actions in Korea. during the same year he was seeing Emperor Meiji until 1911. Yi Un was then sent to military schools and then become the second lieutenant of the infantry and rose up in the ranks of the Japanese Military somewhat quickly. In 1938, Yi Un was promoted to major general and was involved in the 2nd Sino-Japanese war. By 1963 Yi Un was suffering from cerebral thrombosis and was rushed to the hospital, which afterwards made him bedridden for the rest of his life. He died on the 1 of May, 1970 and was buried at the Imperial tombs of Yeongwon Hongneung
