He was married on 11/28/1909 he married the former Minnie Hester, the oldest child of Eben Franklin Hester and Elizabeth Knight Hester of Morgan Co., GA. Edgar and Minnie had a daughter Annie Kate Mitchem 6/9/1910, who married Earl Knight in November 1928. Annie Kate and Earl Knight had 4 sons: Martin Edgar Knight 1934 m. Joyce Sullivan;
James "Jimmie" Knight 1940 never married;
