Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Mitchem Thompson was a daughter of Alonzo Murrell & Lucy Verona Arnold Mitchem of Morgan Co., GA. She was totally deaf but attended church and asked that the song "When All My Labors and Trials are O'er" at her funeral. She was married to Howard Thompson in Detroit, Michigan. She was survived by her three children, Anna Elizabeth Thompson, Hilda Thompson Warda, and Hershal Thompson, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Dean (Josie Whitley) Mitchem of Morgan County, GA.
