Ralph McKinley Mitchem was a son of Alonzo Murrell Mitchem 1854 - 1921 & Lucy Verona Arnold Mitchem of Morgan Co., GA. On March 28, 1909, he married Claudean Hester 1886 - 1970. She was a daughter of Eben Franklin Hester and Elizabeth Knight Hester. Ralph and Claudean were the parents of five children: (1) Edna Elizabeth Mitchem 4/28/1910 - 2000 (never married, buried beside her parents); (2) Byron Eugene Mitchem 7/29/1913 - (m. Mary Frances Hanson, a dtr. of Thomas & Mattie Lou Owens Hanson of Walton Co., Ga); (3) Martha Louise Mitchem 12/4/1914 - (m. 4/19/1936 Hillsman Elmer Peters, a son of Walter & Adell Adcock Peters, Walton Co., Ga); (4)Ralph McKinley Mitchem, Jr. b. & d. 10/19/1919; (5) Tom Holland Mitchem 4/23/1921 - 1995 (m. 2/23/1946 Dora Lou Holder, a dtr. of Jim E. & Ruby Gibson Holder). He was survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters, named above; and he was also survived by granddaughter, Edith Ann Mitchem Weaver b. 10/1/1939 (m. Randy Weaver) who are the parents of two children: Lisa Ann Weaver b. 4/7/1962 (dtr. Lauren Ashley Payne) and Randy Mitchem Weaver b. 6/12/1972; and chldren of his son, Tom Holland Mitchem, Tommy and and Kathy Mitchem of Good Hope, GA.
