Viscount (Vike) Alvin Francis, 47, 300 Sunset Drive, Salina, Kansas, died at a Veterans' Administration hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Francis was hospitalized a few hours before he died of an apparent heart attack.

He was a salesman and had lived in Salina 20 years, coming from Belleville. Mr. Francis was a native of Dunbar, Nebraska, and is remembered as a member of the University of Nebraska football team that played in the Rose Bowl in 1941. He won All American football honors. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are the widow, Yvonne; three sons, Trey Francis, Colin Francis and Sean Francis; his mother, Mrs. Ella Francis, Belleville; three brothers, Stewart Francis, Overland Park; Alex Francis, Hays, and Lt. Col. Sam Francis, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; six sisters, Mrs. Edna Koehler. Klamath Falls, Ore.; Mrs. Tom Thornsen, Overland Park; Mrs. Russell Anderson, Mrs. Clyde Graves, and Mrs. Glen Wineinger, all of Belleville, and Mrs. Lewis Howe, Carlsbad, N. M.
