Ellen Louise Withers Whitaker, age 84, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on April 7, 1938, to the late James Earl William and Bessie Mae Wagoner Withers, she was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College and Maysville Community and Technical College and was the credit office manager at Harrison Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Ellen was an active member of Unity Christian Church, Harrison Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Harrison County Homemakers. She enjoyed church, camping, gardening, outings with her friends and family events.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Billy Frank Whitaker; three brothers, Stanley Woodrow Withers, William Butch Withers and Paul Davis Withers; and two sisters, Emma Lou Wade and Ruby Mae Clifford. She is survived by: two daughters, Lisa (Ronnie) Bowens and Sandra Avery; a brother, Lewis Ray Withers; six grandchildren, Greg May, Amanda May, Michael May, Billy Avery, Timmy Avery and James Avery; six great-grandchildren, Brookelynn, Allison, Mary Jane, Jacob, Michael and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Bruce Templeton, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery.
