Ruby Mae Withers Clifford, age 81, a resident of Grand Haven Nursing Home, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at the nursing home. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on September 25, 1924, to the late Earl and Bessie Wagoner Withers, she owned and operated Clifford Greenhouse for 26 years and was a member of the Unity Christian Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, William Clifford; a son, Carl Clifton Clifford; two brothers, Woodrow Withers and Butch Withers; and a sister, Emma Lou Wade. She is survived by: two brothers, Ray Withers, of Berry, and Paul Withers, of Cynthiana; a sister, Ellen Whitaker, of Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Shannon Sparks, Dean Miller, William Walker Clifford and Carl Michael Clifford; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home by Darrell Sparks and Bro. Marvin Keane. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Pythian Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Unity Christian Church Building Fund. Active pallbearers will be Billy Ray Withers, Bill Withers, Jimmy Withers, Daniel Withers, Gregory May, Billy Joe Avery, Roger Wade and Joe Brogli.
