Paul Davis Withers, age 76, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Monday, November 5, 2007, at Saint Joseph Hospital, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on April 26, 1931, to the late James Earl and Bessie Mae Wagoner Withers, he was a retired farmer and worked in the maintenance department for the Harrison County School System for 20 years. Mr. Withers was a Korean War Army veteran, a member of Leesburg Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Margaret Lee Withers; two brothers, Woodrow Withers and Butch Withers; and two sisters, Emma Lou Wade and Ruby Clifford. He is survived by a brother, Ray Withers, and a sister, Ellen Whitaker, both of Harrison County.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home by Sam Harris and Bro. Marvin Keane. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Leesburg Christian Church Building Fund, 6005 KY Highway 1842 North, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
