Mrs. Geneva Brown, a resident here most of her life, died in an Amarillo Hospital at 2:30 a.m., Friday, March 26. She had been a patient there about 6 weeks.

Mrs. Brown operated Geneva's Resale Shop.

Born at Roosevelt, Oklahoma, October 19, 1907, she was the former Geneva Austin, daughter of the late Met and Gertrude Penn Austin. The family came here about 60 years ago.

She was married to Clyde Steven Brown on October 19, 1929 in Wellington and they farmed in the Buck Creek community for many years. He died July 18, 1954.

Mrs. Brown was active in home demonstration club work and was interested in the improvement of schools and community life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Brown are one son, Leroy Brown of Amarillo; her step-mother, Mrs. Ida Austin of Amarillo; four sisters, Mrs. Mack Hortonof Wellington, Mrs. E. W. Curtis, and Mrs. Jack Jones of Amarillo and Mrs. J. W. Martin of Crowell; three brothers, T. D. Austin of Amarillo, Clifford Austin and Jerry Austin of Plainview; and two granddaughters.
