Funeral services for Tom Minter, 74, of Rowlett will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Pickton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry Suche officiating.

Interment will follow at Pickton Cemetery with Brian Pleasant, Greg Pleasant, Rick Jaskula and David Minter serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Tom Minter passed away at his residence Monday evening, Oct. 10, 2011.

He was born in Pickton on July 27, 1937, the son of Joseph Minter and Idabell (Templeton) Minter.

He married Janie Hyatt in Dallas on May 5, 1986. She survives.

Mr. Minter was a retired division controller for Texas Instruments. He obtained a master's degree in business from East Texas State University. He was a member of First Christian Church of Garland. He was also a member of the Texas Air National Guard.

Other survivors include one son, Tommy Minter of Garland; one daughter, Kasey Minter of Rowlett; one sister, Barbara Shields of Grapevine; and one granddaughter, Samantha Minter.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maryann Pleasant and Sally Roushey, and one brother, Dr. Joe Bob Minter.
