Prominent Rayne Township Resident--Plumville Teacher Dies

IRVIN K. MEARS, one of the oldest residents of Rayne Township, passed away at his home near Tanoma, on Saturday evening, following a brief illness. On February 13th last, Mr. and Mrs. Mears celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Mr. Mears, who was a well-known farmer, had lived his entire life in the Tanoma community, where he had made a host of friends who mourn his death.
The deceased was born August 13, 1859, a son of Joseph and Margaret (Kinter) Mears.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Manner Mears and the following children: Mrs. Mabel Schugarts, at home; Mrs. Mary Campbell, at home; Charles Mears, Marion Center, R. D. 1; William Mears, Clymer, R. D. 1; Clair Mears, Indiana; Quay Mears, Girard, Ohio. 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
Services will be conducted at the Ruffner Church, Rayne township, on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of Rev. J. K. Boston and Rev. Harold L. Loveless, with interment following in the Ruffner Cemetery.
