CHARLES E. MEARS, 82, of Marion Center RD 1 died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1977, at his home.
A son of Irvin K. and Mary Ellen Manner Mears, he was born Sept. 25, 1894, in Rayne Township, Indiana County.
Mr. Mears was a member of the Tanoma United Methodist Church.
A retired farmer, he had lived his entire life in Rayne Township.
Surviving are his widow, Myrtle Edwards Mears; two sons; Edward, Marion Center RD 1, and Charles J., Home RD 1, two daughters, Mrs. Murray (Ruth) Martin, Marion Center RD 1, and Mrs. Wallace (Ethel Grace) Pollock, Marion Center RD 2, 17 grandchildren and one brother, Quay Mears, Clymer.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, with the Rev. Clarence C. Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
