Helen Frances Farmer Mathena
BECKLEY - Helen Frances Farmer Mathena,
95, of Beckley, W.Va., and formerly from
Bluefield, W.Va., went home to be with
the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at
Jackie Withrow Nursing Home in
Beckley.
She was born January 21, 1916 in Tip Top,
Va., and was the daughter of the late
Jesse Lester Farmer and Minnie Mae
Browning Farmer.
She was preceded in death by three
brothers, William Ray Farmer;
Reese T. Farmer; and Jessie Dills
Farmer; and by three sisters, Fannie
Mahallia Farmer; Mattie Adeline
Morgret; and Pearl Mae Gibson.
Helen was a right spirited, fun loving
person. She was an inspiration to all
who knew her and will be greatly missed
by her family and friends. She was
of the Christian faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy
Kinzer of Texas, Sandra Mathena, address
unknown; brother, Robert Farmer and wife
Rosene; sister, Nora Farmer Lawson of
Bluefield, W.Va.; as well as numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins and dear
friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday,
Nov. 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Dudley
Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va., with
the Rev. Gary Jakes officiating. Burial
will follow in the Grandview Memory
Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Steven Dodder,
Michael Lawson, Randy Lawson, Victor
Farmer, Michael Albert Lawson
and Dave Dean.
Friends may visit with the family on
Saturday from 1 p.m.
until the hour of the services.
