Reese T. Farmer

BLUEFIELD, Va. - Reese T. Farmer, 90,
of Bluefield, Va., went to be with the
Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at
Westwood Health Care Center. He was born
at Tip Top, Va. and was a son of the
late Jesse Farmer and Minnie Mae Browning
Farmer.

Mr. Farmer was a member of the Tip Top
United Methodist Church, served in the
U. S. Army during World War II, and
was retired from the Coca Cola Bottling
Co.

In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his wife,
Stella Frances Evans Farmer;
sisters, Pearl Gibson and Fannie
Farmer; and by brothers, Jesse
Farmer and Ray Farmer.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth
Reese Farmer, North Tazewell, Va.;
daughter, Barbara Jane Whitt and
husband Roy, Bluefield, Va.;
grandchildren, Jessica Blankenship,
Christy Martin, William Aldrich-Ames,
and Robert Aldrich-Ames; brother,
Robert Farmer and wife Rosene, Ohio;
sisters, Nora Lawson, Bluefield,
W.Va., Helen Mathena, Beckley, W.Va.;
seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
Sept. 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield,
Va. with the Reverend Jim Horn
officiating. Burial will follow
in the Grandview Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Robert Aldrich-Ames,
William Aldrich-Ames, Roy Whitt, Victor
Farmer, Michael Lawson and Randy Lawson.

Military graveside rites will be
conducted by the Bluefield, Va. VFW
Memorial Post 9696 and the Pocahontas
American Legion Post 14.

In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to the Tip Top United Methodist
Church.
