Leonard M. Floyd, 64, of Yuba City, CA, formerly of Memphis, died Tuesday at a Yuba City hospital after a long illness. Services will be held in California and a memorial mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mr. Floyd was a graduate of the old Christian Brothers College and Spring Hill Collage in Mobile, Alabama. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII serving in the Pacific and worked as a certified public accountant in Memphis before moving to California in 1959. He was a former member of the University Club and the Hunt and Polo Club here (Memphis) and the first President of the Peninsula Tennis Club in Burlingame, California. He was an avid tennis player and won his first tournament at the age of 12. In 1984, Mr. Floyd and his doubles partner were ranked third in Northern California.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Eileen M. Floyd; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Browning (John) and Kathleen Floyd, both of San Mateo, CA; three sons, Leonard M. Floyd Jr. (Barbara) of Los Gatos, CA, Charles W. Floyd, III (Trula)of Half Moon Bay, CA and Michael W. Floyd (Angel) of San Carlos, CA; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Floyd Rhinehart, Mrs. Melba Longworth, and Mrs. Peggy Wulff, all of Memphis, and three grandchildren. The family requests any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the charity of their choice.
