Funeral services for Arlen Eugene "Goldie" Goldsmith, 56, of Stockton, who died Sunday at home, will begin at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Lodi.
Mr. Goldsmith, a retired California Highway Patrol officer, was a native of Borger, Tex. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and San Joaquin Delta College and spent most of his life in the Lodi, Stockton and Oakdale areas.
He worked for the California Division of Highways from 1949 to 1955, when he went to work as a highway patrolman. He retired as a sergeant in 1983.
Mr. Goldsmith also was a pilot and outdoorsaman. He was a member of the 265 Club, CAHP and JCHP Blue Pistol Team.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanie of Stockton; three sons, a daughter; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Goldsmith of Acampo; two sisters, Mavis Chaney of Avery and Mildred Woods of Carmel, Maine; a brother, Owen, of Mountain Ranch, and six grandchildren.
Burial will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
