Arthur J. (Govy) Dippold, 77, of 310 Elm St., a resident of Edwardsville all his life, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Dippold was a partner in Dippold Brothers' Flour and Feed Co. for 22 years.
He was vice president of Clover-Leaf Home Building and Loan Association, a member of AF & AM Lodge No. 99, a life member of I.O.O.F. No. 46, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Edwardsville Sportsmen's Club.
Born Sept. 7, 1891, in Edwardsville, he was a son of the late John and Katherine Miller Dippold. He was married to Esther S. Stubbs, Jan. 14, 1912, in Clayton, Mo. She died last Oct. 12.
Survivors include one son, Daniel S. Dippold of Edwardsville; one daughter, Mrs. George (Lea) Rizzoli of Edwardsville, and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur James Dippold, who was killed during World War II, two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Weber Funeral Home. Services will be in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Walter Mehl, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
