Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois), Saturday, February 5, 1972:
   Daniel S. Dippold, 57, of 306 Elm St., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient for a week.
   Mr. Dippold was a project engineer for the Illinois Highway Department. He was employed by the state for 17 years.
   Born June 5, 1914, in Edwardsville, Mr. Dippold was the son of the late Arthur J. and Esther Stubbs Dippold.
   He was married to the former Ruth K. Piper on July 31, 1942, in Edwardsville. His wife survives.
   Also surviving is a son, Jack D. Dippold of Edwardsville.
   Mr. Dippold was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and of the Illinois and Missouri professional engineer societies. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Edwardsville.
   Friends may call at the Weber Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, with Rev. Carl Bennett, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
   Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
