FLORA, INDIANA--Former Cutler resident Joseph F. Cook, 96, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday at the Brethren's Home of Indiana.
Born June 30, 1896 in Cutler, he was the son of William Ward and Jennie Long Cook. On May 21, 1915 he was married in Burlington Township to Josephine Thompson, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Cook was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Cutler Presbyterian Church and was a former secretary of the Ball Hill Cemetery Association. He also served a four year term as a Democrat Township Trustee and was a member of the first school board for Carroll Consolidated School Corporation.
Surviving are three sons: Harold of Flora; Robert, Mark "Mick," both of Cutler; four daughters: Virginia Bower of Flora; Belva Jane Best of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; Marjorie Squier Smith of Earl Park; and Bonnie Wilson of Indianapolis; one sister: Mina Sheagley of Cutler; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
One son preceded in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Baker Funeral Home, which Pastors Kevin Nollette and William Beswick officiating. Burial will be in Ball Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity
