She was born april 28, 1888, in Salt Lake City, Utah, daugther of Frank & Mary Carlsen Merwin. She grew up and attended schools there and was a graduate nurse.
She was married to James L. Ryan, July 18, 1916, at Idaho Falls. They moved to Glenns Ferry and lived there until 1919 and then returned to Idaho Falls where she has since residede.
Mr. Ryan died May 9, 1968. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son: Jack Ryan, Idaho Falls; and six grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Duster, and James, who were killed in World War II.
