Jeanne Elizabeth Scholfield, age 92, of Wirtz, and formerly of Roanoke, Va. and Lima, Ohio, died Saturday, September 3, 2011.

She was born July 17, 1919, a daughter of the late William and Ethel Badeau Metzger.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George W. Scholfield; brother, 2nd Lt. William E. Metzger, Jr.; son-in-law, Frank Prado; and granddaughter, Amelia Scholfield.

Mrs. Scholfield retired as a teacher having taught in several counties in Ohio as well as Franklin County Public Schools in Virginia. She also worked as a real estate agent for several realty companies. She was also a member of Cave Spring United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen W. Scholfield, Thomas E. and Ginger Scholfield; daughter, Phyllis Prado; grandchildren, Stephanie Gregory (Scott), Megan Rodman (Bill), Krista Davidson (Colin), Tess Hancock (Addison), Samuel Scholfield; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Cecil Fredericks.

Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
