Mrs. J. A. Deer
WALTERBORO – Mrs. Bessie Mixson Ulmer Deer, 74, died suddenly at 3 p.m. Thursday at her home in Walterboro. She was the widow of James E. Deer of Beaufort.
Born in Hampton County, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Robert Mixson and the late Susan Ann Bowers Mixson of Hampton County. She was a member of the Beaufort Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday from the Fred Parker Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. R. W. Shoemaker. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery near Varnville.
Survivors include nine step-children; one brother, J. I. Mixson of Beaufort; one granddaughter, Miss Linda Ulmer of Walterboro, and several nieces and nephews.
