Mrs. Nancy Allen
Services for Mrs. Nancy Allen, 82, mother of local recording artist Denise LaSalle, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Belzoni, MS.
Mrs. Allen died Friday night at Humphreys County General Hospital in Belzoni, MS; after a long illness.
She was born in Leflore County, MS; and had lived in Belzoni, MS; since 1949.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Zion Rock Church where she was a member of the Mother's Board and Missionary Society.
The mother of eight children (seven surviving), she was married 56 years. Her husband, Nathaniel Allen Sr., died in 1976.
Besides Ms. LaSalle, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Luberta Green of Belzoni, MS; and Mrs. Naomi Pruitt of Chicago, IL; four sons, Nathaniel Allen, Sr., and Rev. John Allen, both of Muskegon, MI; Preston Allen of Belzoni, MS; and Rev. Frank Allen of Vicksburg, MS; 55 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
