North Indiana Street, Delphi, was
found dead in her bed Friday
morning at 9 a.m., evidently the
victim of a heart attack.
Born in Illinois, May 26, 1886,
she was the daughter of Robert A.
and Harriet Haas Newell. Her
marriage in 1906 was to W. C.
Dubes who died in 1947. She was
a member of the Delphi Methodist
church, Delphi WCTU, and the
Rain or Shine Sunday School class.
Surviving are two sons; John of
route 2, Flora and Glenn of Lafayette;
two daughters, Mrs. Helen
Cree of Delphi and Faye Dubes of
route 10, Lafayette; two sisters,
Mrs. Alta Smeltzer of Delphi and
Mrs. Harriet Metzger of Pyrmont;
two brothers, Robert A. Newell of
Royal Center and William Newell
of Cutler.
Rites were held Sunday at the
Methodist church with Rev. Robert
Wilburn officiating. Burial was in
the Pyrmont cemetery. Eikenberry
funeral home was in charge of the
arrangements.
