Mrs. Harriet Metzger, 89, former resident of Pyrmont who has been residing at Augsburg Village, Mulberry, died Tuesday July 5,1977, at 7:30 a.m. at Home Hospital where she had been a patient three days. Born June 15, 1888 in Illinois, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Harriett Haas Newell. Her marriage Sept. 12, 1907, was to Ben Metzger who died in 1947. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Pyrmont and spent most of her life in this community. Surviving are two sons, Cleo Metzger and C.P. (Pat) Metzger, both of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Barnhart, Lafayette; one brother, William Newell of Lafayette; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi with the Rev. C. J. Sumners officiating. Burial will be in Pyrmont Cemetery.
