Son of Maletiah Hatch and Mary West.

He was under Col. Brown at Stone Arabia, N.Y., 1780, with his brother Solomon and narrowly escaped being killed by the Indians. Resided at Rensselaerville, N.Y. and New Berlin, N.Y.

His family moved to Coventry, Conn., after his death.
