Funeral services Thomas N. Rickman, 84, Redmond, will be held Wednesday at the Powell Butte Community Christian Church. He was a long time rancher of the Central Oregon area, died Sunday evening at the Redmond Heights Nursing Home. He homesteaded in the Maury Mountain area in 1906. He married Lucy E. Kennedy Dec. 14, 1914, and they stayed on the homestead 45 years, acquiring additional land to raise cattle. In 1959 they purchased a ranch near Dayville and operated it till this past Sept., when they moved to Redmond. He was born Nov. 30, 1886 in Franklin, N.C. In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons; Ray and Abe, and five daughters; Anne Hofstetter, Joyce Ferien, Eva Stephens, Lucille Cherry, and Betty Jo Norton; a brother Alex; three sisters, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Rev D. L. Penhollow officiated at the rites. Burial was in Juniper Haven Cemetery.
