Mr. and Mrs, Clyde Dunn received a message from the war department Saturday that their son, 1st Lt. Marshall C. Dunn, 20, Flying Fortress pilot, was killed over Germany Feb. 6.
The parents had recently received a letter from their son written Jan. 30 in which he said he had just completed 15 combat missions.
He had been awarded the Air Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster.
Lt. Dunn was a graduate of the Electra High School and was a member of the band. He was attending Texas A & M when he enlisted in the Army Air Force.
He entered the armed services in Feb. 1943 and had been overseas since Oct 1944. He was a member of the Eighth Air Force stationed in England.
Survivors are his parents and two grandparents, L.E. Sheldon and Mrs. Ida Dunn, both of Electra.

"He was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 suffered a mid-air collision with B-17G #43-38167 over France and crashed during the war.
Two civilians that were at the crash site were also killed."
