Saint John Globe, Fri 27 Sep 1895: "The death of Mrs. J.B. LONGLEY, for over fifty years a resident of this city, occurred Wednesday at her residence 189 Princess St. Mrs. Longley was born in Granville, N.S. 83 years ago. She was the d/o Israel FELLOWS and was the eldest of the family. Hon. James I. FELLOWS is a brother of the deceased and Mrs. S.S. HALL and Mrs. J.V. TROOP are sisters. Mrs. Longley married John B. LONGLEY, also a Nova Scotian by birth, but who resided in St. John for many years. He held, at one time, a position in the Marine Dept. in this city. Three children, one son and two daughters, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive them. Hon. Wilberforce LONGLEY, Attorney General of Nova Scotia, is a nephew of Mr. Longley. Mrs. Longley was a member of the Brussels Street Baptist Church, St. John. She always enjoyed the best of health. The funeral took place this afternoon from Princess St. Rev. Dr. Carey, assisted by Rev. Teasdale conducted the services at the house and at the Rural (Fernhill) Cemetery." - Source: Daniel F Johnson's New Brunswick Newspaper Vital Statistics.
