Charles Wyatt, 72, of Austin passed away May 30th, 2017 after proving all of his doctors wrong numerous times. Charles was born July 15th, 1944 to Charles and Frances Wyatt in Oklahoma. He was raised and lived in Austin, Texas where he retired and took up helping others full time. His place of worship, and second home, was Pond Springs Church of Christ since 1978.

After graduating from Lanier High School, he went into the Navy where he served two years afloat in the Mediterranean Sea. Once he was honorably discharged in South Carolina, he spent some time there before returning to Austin. He did many things such as deliver Dr. Peppers, work on and install air conditioners, and construction until he found his calling at AT&T. After over a decade there, he transferred to Southwestern Bell to which he retired after 33 years of combined service to both.

Charles met his wife Daisy through her hair dresser, my aunt in 1971. They were married on June 1, 1972 and had 38 strong years together. They traveled for their vacations, only using cars, trains and boats because mom hated to fly. After his wife's death, dad rebuilt the church's kitchen in her remembrance.

Charles lived life with but one philosophy, and that was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". He was quick to lend a helping hand to his friends or friends of friends. Because of this philosophy, he will be remembered by many people for various reasons. Some may remember him as the guy that shows up at your house with a dump truck he rebuilt to help you take the roofing off your house. Others will remember the man who shows up at your place of work with a stack of magazines, because you mention you're thinking about getting a special tool. His other family from the church will remember the time he spent working to better the overall experience received at his second home.

He is preceded in death by his father Charles Wyatt, step-father Paul McComas, mother Frances Wyatt McComas, wife Daisy of 38 years, and son Richard Wyatt. Charles will be remembered by his son Wesley and his wife Melody, his six grandchildren Charles, Kimberly, Jessica, Christopher, Heather and Trevor. Charles has three great-grandchildren Angel, Savahnna and Shawn.

Charles, you will be remembered and always loved.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, the 2nd of June 2017, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2017, at Pond Springs Church of Christ, 13300 Pond Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78729.
