Mary Jean (Wyatt) Webster, 81, entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born on August 31, 1941 in Muskogee County, Buckhorn Community. Her parents were Charley and Eartle (Davis) Wyatt. She grew up in the Buckhorn Community, went to the one room school, then to high school at Webbers Falls graduating with the Class of 1959.
She worked for Griffins for many years, then later she worked at Coburn Optical.
She married Johnnie Webster in 1961 and they shared 48 wonderful years together, hooking up the trailer and heading for the lake at the first sight of spring until he passed away on July 7, 2009. They never had children of their own but when their niece, Goldie's family, was killed in the Keefeton tornado in 1973 she came to live with them. She also has many other nieces and nephews who think "Aunt Jean" hung the moon.
Mary Jean gave her life to the Lord in April 1949 under the ministry of Richard Peterson. She was baptized May 1949 in Otis Evan's Pond. She was a charter member of Buckhorn Baptist Church and attended there until her health prevented it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley Wyatt and Eartle (Wyatt) Hammons; stepfather, Denton Hammons; sisters, Sue Dornan, Bonnie Bray, and Alice Geiger; brothers-in-law, Charles Dornan, Richard Geiger, and R.L. Ford.
Mary Jean is survived by niece, Goldie and Willis Jackson of Keefeton; and their children, Terry and Chris Basden of Glenpool, OK, Karen and Johnny Kent of Kiefer, OK, and Dylan Bigby of Muskogee, OK; sister, Betty Ford; and brother, Bobbie and Dianna Hammons; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
