Amigo, Francis "Frank"

GUILDERLAND - Francis "Frank" Amigo, the husband of Charlotte Amigo, passed away after a brief illness on the morning of December 29, 2022, in Guilderland.
Born on December 28, 1936, in Bethlehem Pa., he was the son of the late Frederick Amigo and Mary C. Heimpel. Frank attended Liberty High School, joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18, and was discharged as a staff sergeant. He then attended Moravian College and continued on to receive a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He had a lifelong career with New York State that included the Division of Budget, Department of Social Services, N.Y.S. Police, and the Retired Public Employees Association. He was a devout Christian and member of Lynnwood Reformed Church where he was a past deacon, member of the choir, and men's brotherhood. He was also a member of the Guilderland Elks. He had a love for music, singing, playing the piano, guitar, saxophone, and clarinet, and was in the marching band in high school. He loved sports too, watching as well as playing. He loved taking the whole family to the beach every summer.
His most important achievement in life was who he was and how many lives he touched. He was the perfect example of a family man. An incredibly devoted, loving husband, a loving, kind, patient father, grandfather, brother, uncle that was like a father, and a friend who was always willing to help. A father figure to many of his daughter's friends, his kindness, compassion, love, humor, and empathy was immeasurable. He never raised his voice and his door was always open. He could inspire laughter with few words and exude warmth with a soft smile.
He is survived by his soulmate and bride of over 60 years and friend since childhood, Charlotte; his devoted daughters, Lisa Amigo-Nolan (Chris) of Albany, Stephanie Amigo-Hausamann (Eric) of East Greenbush, Jennifer Amigo-Wayne (Marc) of Lenexa, Kas., and Linda Testa (Steve) of Schenectady; his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah, Brian, Emily, Christian, Rebecca, Joshua, Ian, Sarah, Jeremiah, Joseph, and Lindsey; and great-grandson, Parker. He also has so many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends that he loved very much.
A special thanks to the caregivers of our mother that made sure he was cared for as well just because he was so awesome.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A church service will be held on Thursday, January 5, at 10 a.m. in the Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3714 Carmen Road, Schenectady. Interment will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynnwood Reformed Church.
