Taggy's early life is a mystery to me, Sandy Lyle, because she was already here when I was born. I do know my father, James Edward Lyle, got Taggy in Glenview, IL, when he was stationed there on Glenview Naval Base while he served in the Navy. I don't know if he had Taggy before he married Charlotte on March 5, 1951. James named Taggy after a good friend of his with that name. I do know Taggy was there while Sandy's mother was pregnant with Sandy and Sandy has pictures of Taggy sitting next to her as a newborn baby. Taggy was very close to James and Sandy. When the family was transferred to Norfolk, VA, Taggy also went with them to Norfolk. Taggy was a big part in Sandy's life in Norfolk. When the family was transferred to Port Lyautey, Morocco, Taggy could not come along with the family. It was a devastating time for all of the Lyle's to leave Taggy behind. Sandy's mother never told Sandy what happened to Taggy and actually Sandy was afraid to ask fearing the news would not be good for Taggy. Taggy was a great dog!!!
