Thomas Addison, a well-known contractor of this city, received injuries in an accident south of the city Friday evening, which resulted in his death in the Eleanor Moore hospital at noon Tuesday. Mr. Addison was returning to his home in this city from Luther, where he had been doing some work during the day. He was driving north on the state road about two miles southeast of the city. A quantity of gravel had been replaced in the center of the road and the sides of the grade were being used for travel. Mr. Addison was on the right side of the road and noticed an automobile coming toward him on the other side. Just before they met something struck his light wagon on the rear upsetting it and throwing him out. The horse was also thrown falling on him crushing him and causing a pelvic fracture and internal injuries. Another automobile, driven by R. Burlingame, was coming from the south in the other side of the grade and when about to meet the one coming from the north he pulled up onto the grade and in some manner his car skidded in the fresh sand and struck the wagon in which Addison was riding. Mr. Addison was taken to the hospital at once and an X-ray taken of his injuries and everything possible done to save his life but to no avail and he passed away in the hospital at noon Tuesday. The remains were taken to the home of Dr. N.M. Whitebill, 126 Tama street. The funeral will be held from the Whitebill home this Thursday afternoon. The accident and death is an most unfortunate one.
