He married Jesse “Jody” (Goodmon) Metz on September 21, 1968. She preceded him in passing on March 25, 2002.
Charlie is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Metz and Tammy Bartley and grandchildren, Jessica Marie Fannin and Dustin Charles Fannin.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Jody; brother, Kenneth “Buddy” Metz; sister, Juanita Woody and twin brothers, Barry and Larry Metz.
Charlie was from a military family spending most of his childhood in South Carolina. He was an alumni of I.U.P.U.I.
He was a veteran of the United States army, serving in the Vietnam War. He served his country with the United States Army, retiring after twenty-three years of dedicated service as a Master Sergeant.
His love and happiness was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed talking about politics.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with calling on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
