Born Aug. 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Homer David and Beulah Mae (Shirk) Schell.
She is survived by one brother, Charles A. Schell and wife, Lynn, of McAlisterville, one sister, Sandra Deen of Mifflintown, seven nephews, two nieces and their families.
Arlene graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1945 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Albright College. She moved to California in 1949 and in 1955 began her career as a teacher. She continued working in education for 36 years.
When she was able, she enjoyed traveling.
She will be buried in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time.
