Gertrude E. Mayer, 95 years, of Toledo passed away on Friday, February 23, 2007, at Lake Park located at Flower Hospital. Gertrude was born in Toledo on June 16, 1911, to Walter and Gertrude (Knudel) Geiser. She married Elvin Mayer in Angola, Indiana on August 2, 1933, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2007. Gertrude owned and operated Gerts Pantry on Dorr St. for many years. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Wally Byam Airstream Caravan and was a volunteer for the Lucas County Board of Elections. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her brother, Raymond Geiser; sister, Virginia (Ron) Kwapich; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Dolly Huber; brothers, Harold, Thad, Clinton, Bernard and Walter Geiser. Visitation and Funeral Services were held in the Neville Funeral Home Reynolds Corners Chapel. Burial was private.
