Memorial being left for reference--please see discussion.

Although this article names Isaac Hightower, it should read William, his brother.

William Hightower died in Macon the same day and had the same funeral and burial information. It seems very unlikely for two well known and aged Hightower gentlemen in Macon to have the same death date, funeral date and burial information without there being a mention of this coincidence in the local paper.

Should any additional information come to light, the memorial will be updated. This memorial is being left for reference should others find this obituary in the future.

From the Atlanta Constitution, published 30 Nov 1893 in a column of information communicated from the news in Macon:

Mr Hightower's Death
Mr Isaac Hightower, seventy-six years old and many years a citizen of Bibb County, died last night and was buried this afternoon. Mr Hightower was greatly devoted to fishing and hunting and spent much of his time engaged in these sports.
He leaves a family of three grown sons and one daughter. He was buried this afternoon at Jones's Chapel cemetery at 3 o'clock. The funeral services took place from Jones's Chapel church, conducted by Rev. T. W. Ellis, pastor of that church.
