To his credit "Ultimo tango a Parigi" (1972), "Novecento" (1976), "The Last Emperor" (1987), "The Sheltering Sky" (1990), "Il piccolo Buddha" (1993). He won two Academy Awards (1974 and 1988) as well as prestigious awards including Golden Globe, David di Donatello, Leone d'Oro at the Venice Film Festival (2007), Palma d'Oro at the Cannes Film Festival (2011). Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame . Bertolucci died at the age of seventy-seven after long illness.
