Unknown if Samuel arrived on the same ship as Matrona. It is a possibility that he was aboard the same ship. [1930 Census states that Samuel immigrated in 1900.]

According to Matrona Krosky's daughter, Mary Krosky Mikolanda, Matrona married Samuel Chorostyak (pronounced with a silent "C").

According to Matrona Krosky's daughter, Doris Krosky Kerekes, the spelling may have been Choros ciak, or possibly Choros chak.

***According to G. Babyak Traxler (Find A Grave site manager 48125074), surname may have been Choroszczak (silent "C") or Chroszczak.

Samuel and Matrona later took on the last name, Krosky, after Nick Krosky who was a boarder at the house. Thus, "Mary Krosky". [The 1930 Census states that Nick Krosky immigrated to USA in 1904.]

REMEMBRANCES - by Elaine Caldwell, Detroit Michigan
I unpacked some boxes from under the stairs
That were sitting all dusty, for so many years
Not knowing what treasures that I would uncover
Imagine my pleasure, when I did discover...

Some pictures and film, from thirty years past
And other mementos, that I had amassed
Looking at faces, a hard fact would dawn
that most of these people I knew, were now gone.

A sadness and quiet enveloped, that day
As I went through the photos and put them away
My family and loved ones so gentle and kind
Went on, but their presence is etched in my mind.

They will be remembered, this box will be found
Someday in the future when I'm not around
And grandkids will look at the photos and see
The picture and film that were taken, by me.
