Luayne was a loving mother that was proud of her three children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas James Pierce.
Luayne is survived by her children, Karen (Paul) Matocha of Ganado, Patti Schoeneberg of El Campo, John (Misty) Pierce of El Campo; her grandchildren, Sarah (Ricky) Alaniz, PJ (Aimee) Matocha, Johnathan (Debra) Matocha, Steven Sanchez, Sarah Matocha (Michael), Robert (Heather) Matocha, Andy (Ashly) Matocha, Savanna Eggemeyer, Kylie Schoeneberg, Emma Schoeneberg and Rafe Pierce; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William Bill Jones; sisters-in-law, Katherine Jensen, Becky (Dale) Pittman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Luayne was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the Heritage Society. She enjoyed researching family genealogy, gardening, reading, bird watching and gambling.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, January 21 at Triska Funeral Home with family receiving visitors from 3-5 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 22 at St. Philip Catholic Church with Funeral Mass immediately following at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Alaniz, PJ Matocha, Johnathan Matocha, Steven Sanchez, Robert Matocha, and Andy Matocha. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Smidovec, Louis Ducros, Brad Kaluza, and Clint Mitchell.
Memorial donations in memory of Luayne Pierce may be made to American Diabetes Association or El Campo Volunteer Fire Department.
